The Art Director will create and manage art development on multi-platform projects. Excellent communication skills, organization, and a proven track record in management and art direction for both internal and external outsourcing studios are essential.
Responsible for the visual quality of all game content and must assure that all visual elements are in line with the game's vision.
Establish the visual priorities for the art team
Communicate to the art team the expectations in terms of level of quality of the content through the use of visual references, documentation, and style guide
Develop concepts in collaboration with the design team so that the core gameplay and features are understood and communicated visually in the best ways possible
Understand platform limitation and communicate with engineering and the Senior Character Technical Artist for any tools needed to be developed to better support the art team
Foster a team environment by being a leader and role model for the art team all the while working to push the envelope on the visual quality of the product
Excellent traditional artistic skills with a strong understanding of anatomy, composition, color theory, perspective, lighting, environmental, atchitectural, character, and graphic design.
Some proficiency in Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Sketch Up, or other standard 3D application
Familiar with game development pipeline and production needs
