Senior Character Artist

A Sr. Character Artist will create 3D characters for mobile and console development.

Description

  • Understand asset limitations, project milestones, risks and work accordingly
  • Export and set up character models for Unity
  • Produce models according to the modelling would be built according to the provided concept art
  • Create high quality character models and LODs
  • Provide proxy models for early game integration
  • Create efficient and rig friendly topology
  • Unwrap low polygon models and create high quality color maps
  • Address critiques from the Lead Artist and Art Director and make revisions

     

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ working experience in game development modeling and texturing characters using Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs)
  • Experience with Unity
  • Experienced with AAA console production
  • Very good sense of human and animal anatomy and proportions
  • Highly proficient in Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop
  • Solid knowledge in hi-poly modeling and digital sculpting
  • Strong knowledge of low poly modeling techniques
  • Very strong texturing skills, mapping and normal map extraction techniques
  • Ability to efficiently use the texture space and to take into consideration the pixel ratio
  • Ability to understand technical constraints and to integrate them when modeling
  • Good sense of form, shape, silhouette in regards to objects
  • Ability to manage their own time and work within deadlines
  • Good communication and English skills

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Marvelous Designer and Substance Painter
  • Ability to model environments and environment assets
  • Experience with PBR
  • Experience with Unity and mobile development
